I am Shivakumar and I welcome you all to "LOOKING THROUGH THE GLASS" my online image gallery. I am a Software Engineer by profession working for one of the IT major in this HiTec computer world. Photography is is my passion and i make this as a means to capture memories of what i see. I am basically from the beautiful city of Bangalore in India. This website is my little space on the net, where I intend to share some of my images and thoughts pertaining to my travel to different places and the beautiful flora and fauna from India.
How it all started
I started Photography as a hobby in 2003 when my sister presented me a beautiful (yet complex) Canon EOS 300 Film SLR Camera. But i took this up bit more seriously during 2006 when i started to travel to many European countries during my official breaks and witness various culture and people across the globe and wanted to capture what i saw in moments of time. I have already adapted myself to the digital world and have upgraded to DSLRs but I continue to use my trust worthy Film SLR pretty frequently.
Equipment that i use
Talking about my gear, I currently shoot with Canon 40D DSLR clubbed with a variety of lenses which include Canon 300 F2.8 L IS, Canon 17-40 F4 L, Canon 100 F2.8, Sigma 50 F2.8 Macro. I use Manfrotto tripod and monopod as support and shoot on Sandisk Extreme III & Ultra II CF cards. I process my images on my Apple Macbook using Digital Photo Professional & Photoshop CS3 software.
